MENTORSHIP: OPEN YOUR EYES

“In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond; and like seeds dreaming beneath the snow, your heart dreams of spring.” Kahlil Gibran

          * Two spots in the virtual mentorship cohort. Dates and times that the cohort will meet each month are listed below. This is
not just a mentorship for those who want to work as death doulas, celebrants, or educators and advocates (although it can
certainly equip you for that). This is a 6 month mentorship for anyone who wants to wade in deep and reclaim a way of
being with the dead for themselves or anyone else they cherish. In the midst of our fight against the state and the industry,
many of you have reached out to ask for a hand to hold or a doorway into the world of communal death care. THIS is that
doorway. This is that hand. (There will be six participants total)

The virtual mentorship will cover grief work and mourning, business essentials, the legal landscape, working with funeral
professionals, community led death care and body care, personalized death narratives, how to maintain healthy emotional
boundaries and vulnerability at the same time, green burial plus other body disposition options, multiple guest speakers,
and more. The mentorship is valued at $1,000 with a $250 deposit required to reserve your space. To reserve your spot or
ask questions about the virtual or in-person mentorships, you can contact Lauren at [email protected]

Death Done Differently is also available to present on multiple topics pertaining to the end of life. Some commonly requested themes are the history of death care in the U.S., eco-friendly end of life choices, the necessity of ritual in mourning, or mourning vs. grief.

Whether she is sharing the nature of her work with hospice social workers, leading a small group through end of life planning exercises, or participating in a community event geared toward creating greater openness around death and dying, Lauren passionately believes that to change the death culture we must first get comfortable talking about it.
